Samantha, our Registered Acupuncturist, completed her Diploma of Acupuncture with distinction at MacEwan University in Edmonton. She also completed an internship at the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China. Prior to studying acupuncture, Sam obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at UBC and worked in a variety of different fields including Agriculture, Environment, and Medical Microbiology.
Sam is passionate about acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and brings this passion to the care she provides her patients. One of Sam’s goals is to bring awareness in recognizing when the mental stressors of our daily lives have directly impacted the physical body through expressions of pain or chronic disease. Sam aims to help you find ways of managing chronic stress through lifestyle, nutrition, and of course, acupuncture. One of the emerging areas of interest for Samantha is Oncology care. Through the wonderful patients she has encountered, Sam has developed a keen interest in helping treat those who are navigating the uncertain waters of chemotherapy, radiation, and/or pre and post cancer care. Sam’s acupuncture practice encompasses many aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine including: acupressure, cupping, gua sha, tui na, ear therapy, moxa, electro stimulation, electromagnetic therapy, and TCM diet therapy.
